A Gospel Meeting and Ice Cream Social will be held on Sunday evening, May 6th at 6:30 PM at the Chapel. This will be FREE and open to the public. There will be free babysitting for Pre-School Children. No Offering will be taken. All are invited.

Missions Conference – 2012

The Northern Hills Bible Chapel will be hosting their biennial Missions Conference at the Chapel on the weekend of April 20 – 22. Our visiting missionaries will be Joel Hernandez, Director of Missions at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, IA; Bill and Joy Carrera, missionaries in Brazil (now on furlough); and Anil Y. of Chicago. On Friday, April 20th, the meeting will be from 7 – 8 PM.
Saturday, April 21st, there will be a meeting from 5 – 6 PM, then a complimentary dinner from 6 – 7 PM, and a meeting from 7 – 8 PM. On Sunday, our guest missionaries will be speaking at the 9 AM Sunday School Service and at the 11:30 AM Family Bible Hour…The Breaking of Break Service will be from 10 AM – 11 AM.

The Men’s meeting scheduled for Saturday Feb 11 morning is postponed to May 2012 – details to follow later.

Saturday Feb 11th, evening meetings are cancelled.

Sunday Schools for the 12th and 19th will be discussions in 1st Corinthians.

Dr. Dave Reid: Well done, good and faithful servant.

We are mourning the loss of a beloved brother in Christ, Dr. Dave Reid, who was a commended worker from Northern Hills Bible Chapel. He died January 31, as the result of a skiing accident in Utah. Dave, husband of Margie (Smart) Reid, taught at Emmaus Bible College from 1975 – 2003. “Dr. Grace,” as he was lovingly named by those who studied with him, introduced the Old Testament to generations of students. His Old Testament Walk-Thru remains imprinted on the memories of the students he taught. Dave loved and valued the Scriptures, and he trained his students to shun “bad hermeneutics” and rightly divide the Word of Truth. His colleagues remember with joy his sense of humor, boundless energy, and sincere love for the Lord. In addition to his ministry at Emmaus, Dave produced Devotions for Growing Christians in radio and print, reaching thousands with practical lessons from the Scriptures. We rejoice in knowing that Dave is now in the presence of the Savior he loved and served with his life. Please remember Dave’s wife, Margie, his children, and grandchildren in prayer.

David and Jon Glock will be visiting…

The last weekend in January we are privileged to have the father-son duo of Dave and Jon Glock with us for a series of special meetings. Both are part of the faculty at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa and are excellent Bible teachers. The book of Ecclesiastes, written by “the Teacher,” looks at the meaningless of man’s life and efforts apart from God. The book ends with this profound statement in Ecclesiastes 12:13, “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” The topic for the weekend meetings will be “Practical lessons from the book of Ecclesiastes.” We will have meetings on Friday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 PM, Saturday evening at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM with a dinner break at 6:00 PM. The Glocks will also be teaching at both Sunday meetings. This should be a wonderful weekend of teaching from the Word of God. Please save the dates. Jon Glock will be meeting with the young people during the day on Saturday Jan. 28. Details on this will be announced later.

Harvest Time Hospitality and Gospel Meeting

Charlotte Dietz will be giving a missions report at 9 AM on Sunday, October 2nd about her experiences on the mission field — both in Andhra Pradesh, South India and also in Burundi, Africa. Charlotte spent the past year as a missionary in these two countries after graduating from high school. While in Burundi, Charlotte stayed with Joy and Jesse Johnson and their family, missionaries to Burundi. Charlotte is now enjoying her first year of college.

The 2011 Retreat Committee warmly invites you and your friends to join us for a weekend of worship, praise, fun, fellowship, teaching, and devotional encouragement from God’s Word.

WHEN: Friday, October 28th starting at 6:30 pm with registration and a light supper and Saturday, October 29th starting at 9:00 am with a continental breakfast and concluding around 3 pm.

SPEAKER: We are pleased to have Dr. Ruth Schwertfeger once again as our teacher. Ruth is a German literature professor at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee as well as a wife, mother, and grandmother.

COST: Friday and Saturday- $20 (meals, meetings, and snacks)
Saturday only- $15 (breakfast and/or lunch, meetings and snacks)
